Where to eat in Agde: ten tables worth booking

In the Languedoc, a table is chosen as much for how it feels as for what is on the plate: a terrace facing Fort Brescou, a lunch between golf course and Mediterranean, wild-caught fish by the river. Here are ten tables for your stay in Cap d’Agde and Agde.

A selection, not a ranking, with no interest in fashion or noise, only in the right match between a kitchen and its setting. Three of these tables appear in our magazine; the others are family-run houses, tables the guides mention, menus that follow the market. Two other addresses from that magazine, Manovi Plage and Les Vagues, belong to our selection of beach clubs between Agde and Sérignan.

In Cap d’Agde, from the cliff to the Ramblas

A terrace on the cliff, a table in the heart of the golf course, an Italian stop on the Ramblas.

La Bonne Mère

6 allée des Phocéens, La Plagette, Cap d’Agde · in our magazine

On the heights of La Plagette, facing the sea, a white cabin and its terrace turned towards Fort Brescou. Below, the black rocks, the hidden beach, the Deux Frères. The plate tastes of the South: grilled fish, tuna tataki, octopus salad, roasted vegetables. The service is relaxed, the glasses well chosen, the music soft, the moment in its place.

Le Dix9

4 avenue des Alizés, Golf International, Cap d’Agde · in our magazine

In the heart of the Golf International, a soberly elegant table between fairways and Mediterranean. The large terrace has an open view, and the pace is unhurried. Everything is homemade, and several dishes are finished in the dining room: hand-cut beef tartare, sole meunière coated in hazelnut butter in front of you, a wheel of Parmesan flambéed with grappa, entrecôte to share. Open to everyone, club member or not, and all year round: come for a quiet lunch or a hushed dinner. Access is through the golf club entrance.

Bottega Tre

14 avenue des Sergents, Iconic residence, Cap d’Agde · in our magazine

A short walk from the marina and the big wheel, the new Ramblas reinvent the art of strolling beside the Mediterranean. Between contemporary architecture and seaside atmosphere, Bottega Tre stands out as an Italian stop, both urban and sunlit. On the terrace or behind the glass walls, conversation mingles with laughter under the lights of the neighbouring Casino.

Inside, a contemporary decor with Milanese charm: earthy tones, sculptural furniture, raw textures. The menu is the Italy of modern trattorias, authentic, fresh and light: creamy burrata, charcuterie and cheese boards, spaghetti with clams, pizzas, tiramisu. And to extend the experience, a delicatessen offers artisan pasta, fine sauces, matured charcuterie and cheeses from Italy.

The harbour and the lagoon

Two tables on the quays, a terrace beside the lagoon: in Cap d’Agde, the water sets the scene.

L’Ami Louis

11 rue de la Gabelle, Cap d’Agde harbour

On the quay of the central harbour, the Abadie family has run the house for four generations. The menu revolves around fish and shellfish, sea bass in a salt crust or market fish cooked à la plancha, with duck breast or pan-fried foie gras for the land. The contemporary dining room, in pastel tones, looks onto the harbour; the cellar draws on the wines of the region.

Le Magellan

8 quai de la Trirème, Cap d’Agde

Le Magellan overlooks the marina. Its chef, Jean-Philippe D’Aprile, offers rich cooking with spiced flavours: the seasonal menu features fish, shellfish and molluscs, flambéed dishes included.

Gaia

Parc de Lano, Cap d’Agde

Between La Roquille beach and the central harbour, Gaia sets its terrace beside the lagoon of the Parc de Lano, facing Mont Saint-Loup, with the sunset as its backdrop. Chef Damien Cédat creates sun-filled cooking here: stuffed mussels in the Agde style, wild Mediterranean fish, tapas to share, and suggestions that change every week.

In Agde

Two tables in town, one market-led, the other chef-driven.

Le Bistro d’Hervé

47 rue Brescou, Agde

In the very centre of town, Hervé Dos Santos creates creative, refined market cooking with the flavours of the South, alongside regional wines. The dining room has the look of a contemporary bistro; a small terrace under stretched sails extends it. The Gault&Millau 2026 and the Michelin Guide both mention the house.

La Table de Stéphane

2 rue des Moulins-à-Huile, Agde

At the entrance to the town, chef Stéphane Lavaux explores and revisits combinations: foie gras, apple and gingerbread; roast red mullet and saffron risotto. The Gault&Millau 2026 sees a gastronomic table that stands out for its research and originality.

At the mouth of the Hérault

Where the Hérault meets the sea, two addresses, one on each bank, following the day’s catch and the produce of the moment.

Le Marin Pêcheur

33 quai Théophile-Cornu, La Tamarissière, Agde

Established since 2017 on the La Tamarissière bank of the Hérault, Le Marin Pêcheur looks onto the jetty running out to the Mediterranean. It works only with wild fish: “no farming”. Its owner, born in Béziers, was a fisherman before moving into the kitchen. The menu follows the catch: monkfish bourride, a parillada of the sea with up to seven species.

L’Ardoise du Marché

3 rue Lambert-Maurel, Le Grau d’Agde

A slate of three starters, three main courses and three desserts, changing with the produce of the moment: the bistronomic cooking is entirely homemade, from the sauces to the desserts, and the cellar favours regional wines. The dining room is small: book ahead.

Booking well

Book as soon as your dates are fixed: in season, the good tables fill quickly, and some have only a few covers. Days off vary from one house to another and from one season to the next; our team checks them with you.

Fish or meat, everyone finds a table: if you prefer meat, Le Dix9, L’Ami Louis and La Table de Stéphane offer it too, and Bottega Tre puts Italy on its menu. To go with fish, ask for a white from the region: Picpoul de Pinet, lively and fresh, is the classic partner for oysters and shellfish.

Our concierge team books your table and arranges your driver for the evening. If you would rather dine at the villa, a private chef will cook the catch of the day for you.

Where to stay in Agde

A table booked for the evening, an outdoor lunch at the villa the next day: in Agde, Villa Halo, Villa Maya and Villa Signature leave you the choice. All our homes in Agde are gathered on the villa rental in Agde page, and the best beaches between Agde and Sérignan complete the day.
