The market
Agde, a longer season
The Cap d’Agde Méditerranée area recorded 12.6 million tourist nights in 2025. Around a third came from abroad, led by Germany, ahead of Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
The season is no longer just July and August. The director of the tourist office calls September ‘almost a third summer month, more so than June’.
For a villa, that means stays beyond the summer and guests from several countries: our direct-booking website speaks to them in French, English and German.
Three addresses, one town

Frequently asked questions
Questions from owners in Agde
Is my villa in Le Cap d’Agde declared to Agde town hall?
Yes. Le Cap d’Agde, Le Grau d’Agde and La Tamarissière are districts of the commune of Agde: one town hall, one declaration procedure, and the same local authority for the tourist tax, Hérault Méditerranée.
Do I need to declare my villa to the town hall in Agde?
Yes, as soon as it is let to short-stay guests, unless it is your main residence: on form Cerfa 14004, handed in at the town hall, until the national online service opens. Under the management agreement, we make the declaration for you.
Will a registration number be compulsory in Agde?
Yes. The national online registration service, announced for the last quarter of 2026, will be compulsory for everyone who lets: every villa will have to be registered there, with its number shown on every listing, and existing town-issued numbers will have to be renewed within several months. The law asks the owner to complete this registration in person: we prepare the file with you, then add the number to each of your listings.
Who collects the tourist tax in Agde?
It is collected from guests, then declared every month to the Hérault Méditerranée local authority, on its online platform; under the management agreement, we collect it and remit it for you. The rate depends on the villa’s star rating: a fixed amount per person per night for a rated villa, published every year by the authority. With us, it is always included and shown in the price.
Should my villa have an official star rating?
The rating is optional: from one to five stars, for five years. It sets the tourist tax at a fixed amount per person per night and confirms the villa’s standard through an outside inspection. We aim for at least four stars: we prepare the application, get the villa ready for the inspection and pass the certificate on to you.
Does my villa’s pool need a safety device?
Yes. A private pool must have one of these approved devices: a barrier, an alarm, a safety cover or a pool enclosure, in place and working before each guest arrives for a holiday let. Every pool in the collection is secured, including those that are not fenced.
Will my villa only let in July and August?
In Agde, the season runs beyond the summer, starting with September. We check your villa’s calendar every day, compare it with the rest of the collection, and fine-tune the rates or open new dates depending on the period. Guests are also booking later and later: dates still open are not dates lost.
