Seven addresses to know in Sérignan

By the Mademoiselle team 6 min read

Tree-shaded terrace of Ma Ferme in Sérignan at nightfall: tables under the pines, brick-red parasols and hanging lights, the lit dining room behind

In the Languedoc, in Sérignan, people happily dine outdoors: under the vine arbour of a courtyard, on a shaded terrace on the banks of the Orb, under the pines of Sérignan-Plage, and a wood fire is never far away. Village houses, a farm one returns to, a table by the river: here are seven addresses to remember for your stay.

Ma Ferme appears in our magazine; the other six addresses complete the selection. One of them, Sépia, lies on the far side of the Orb, in Valras-Plage.

Over a wood fire

A farm, its summer bar and a village barn: three houses where the cooking goes through fire.

Ma Ferme

21 rue Henri-Laborit, Sérignan · in our magazine

Ma Ferme cultivates authenticity in a simple, unaffected country setting: a large tree-shaded terrace and a warm dining room with a fireplace. The cooking of the South is generous and family-style: a butcher’s cut to share, rib steak, duck breast and lamb chops grilled over a wood fire, fish of the day, hearty salads. Concerts punctuate the year, and a children’s menu makes the house a family table. A lively place, loved by locals, where one returns with pleasure.

L’Âne-Ex

21 rue Henri-Laborit, Sérignan, right next to Ma Ferme

This is the house’s open-air summer bar, and it is here that the guinguette spirit comes fully into its own: at sunset, the garlands light up, the music rises, the evening begins. With the signature cocktails, you share tapas cooked on braziers: grilled razor clams, octopus, duck skewers, honey-roasted camembert, and home-made chips of course. Our guests travelling with children are well received: there is room to run about. The bar opens in the warm season, and its evenings are announced on its Instagram account.

Maison Hermine

40 boulevard Voltaire, Sérignan

In the heart of the village, Maison Hermine occupies a large barn entered through the courtyard. In summer, the long tables move out under the vine arbour; in winter, you dine beneath the timber frame, near the wood-fired oven and the fireplace. The cooking is made for sharing: a short menu that changes with the market, grills, seasonal vegetables, starters that circulate across the table. Service is family-style, the cellar is built bottle by bottle, and the house opens only in the evening. Its Instagram account announces the evening dishes and the wines that have arrived.

On the Promenade and by the Orb

Two village tables, one on the Promenade, the other on the riverbank.

Le Patio d’Oc

65 allées de la République, la Promenade, Sérignan

Established in Sérignan since 2017, in the heart of the Promenade, Le Patio d’Oc serves sincere Mediterranean cooking based on fresh produce: fish, grilled meats from beef breeds, enjoyed on a shaded terrace. The house hosts music evenings, flamenco for example. The Sérignan market also sets up on the Promenade several mornings a week: our article on the markets around Béziers gives the details.

Maison Viel

On the banks of the Orb, Sérignan

Since 2018, Maison Viel has served traditional, home-made French cooking in a peaceful setting on the Orb. The large terrace looks onto the river, with its open-air kitchen and bar. Everything is played out on the slate, which changes almost daily with the market and fresh local produce; the house menu sets the tone: home-made foie gras, monkfish bourride, sweetbreads, rum baba, floating island. The wines come from the partner cellar La Tassée Gourmande, and the free Cigalière car park is next door.

Towards the beach

Two tables on the sea side, one in Sérignan-Plage, the other in Valras-Plage.

Mon Restaurant d’été

Allée de la Grande-Maïre, Sérignan-Plage

At the entrance to Sérignan-Plage, opposite the Ranch Saint-Jean, Mon Restaurant d’été spreads three terraces in the shade of umbrella pines, on a protected Natura 2000 site. The house opens from spring to the end of summer and works with short supply chains: beef from breeders in the Aveyron and the Massif Central, duck breast from the South-West, fresh fish, gambas in persillade, sea bass fillet, parillada. The meats mature in a dry-ageing cellar; the crêpes, cooked to order, are made with flour from a Breton water mill, and the ice creams come from a local artisan. A natural stop on the way back from the beach.

Sépia

28 rue Frédéric-Mistral, Valras-Plage

On the other bank of the Orb, in Valras-Plage, Sépia is a small table near the beach, retained by the Michelin Guide in its 2026 selection. A couple of professionals run it, he at the stove, she in the dining room. A marine décor inside, a wooden terrace outside; on the plate, modern, legible cooking that relies on fresh fish and regional producers.

Booking well

In Sérignan, several houses have their days off and annual closures, and both L’Âne-Ex and Mon Restaurant d’été open only in the warm season. Once your stay is fixed, our team checks with you what is open during your dates, and books the table.

One evening, the table can also come to you: our concierge service arranges for a private chef to visit the villa. For dining in Béziers, see our selection of restaurants in Béziers.
